 Tier 2
If you are a foreign national and looking to come to the UK to live and work, than this is the type of visa you will need. Please note that Tier 2 has replaced the Work Permit Scheme.
There are different types of applications within Tier 2; General , Intra Company Transfer, Minister of Religion and Sports Person. It is the Tier2 (General) applications that are more commonly made by individuals and thus require further assistance.
These visas can be issued for 6 months to 3 years with a possibility of extending your leave or you may even wish to switch your visa to a Tier 1 (General). In order to obtain a Tier 2 visa you must have a sponsor and a job offer, you can not apply without these.
The purpose of migration to the UK in this category is to fill the gaps in the UK labour force which can not be filled by the resident workforce.
